EE-II Project Notice (SEC C & D)

Students are to form a group of 7-8 students (sec D) and 6-7 students (SEC C).
They need to submit a synopsis of their project work in paper latest by 20.09.13 (3.30 pm) which needs to be approved.
The topics should be very specific ones (case study will do), but it should not be of any general view point.

Q.1 Clear dimension of a staircase hall is 3mX 6m; floor to floor height is 3.60m. A two flight stair is to be provided. Design the overall geometry of stairs.
Q.2 Use the same geometry, design the stairs. The stair is used inside a public building. The landing slab is in the same direction as the stair slab and is supported by the walls at their ends.
Q.3 A stair with an open well consists of two flights and a span partly crossing at right angle. There are 12 steps of rise 150mm , tread 300mm in each flight and 6 steps in cross span. Width of landing and stair is 1.150m. the landings are to be supported on the walls at the ends. Design the stair slab

Technical Seminar Details

Technical Seminar is a 4 credit course and hence the workload expected is equivalent to any theory course that you have this term. This course will be evaluated based upon a presentation and technical report submitted to an external examiner. The requirements include extensive literature search within a selected topic of your interest.

To begin with, you are all required to individually submit 2-3 possible technical topics within any specialisation of Civil Engg. to your allotted teachers. These topics should also be accompanied by a brief summary of about 200 words detailing what you intend to do within that topic. Avoid generalised topics and select very specific topics. You may discuss the topics with your supervisor and obtain their approval.

You are all required to get your topic approved by your advisor by Sept. 30, 2013.

AutoCAD training and Workshop

As we did last year, we have again tied-up with CAD Studio, New Delhi (Authorised Training and Certification Centre for  Autodesk Products) to provide you professional training in AutoCAD and other related software. To give you an idea about the different software a workshop is being organised and the training shall commence after the workshop. The details of the workshop are as,

Time: 11:00am onwards

The training (on a paid basis) shall be provided on the weekends (4hrs per day on Saturday and Sunday) on any two of the following software, depending upon the number of participants,

Revit Structures
Civil 3D

Placement committee meeting with the VC

As advised by Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, a meeting will be held with student representatives of B.Tech Final Year (All Branches) to address them and to take their suggestion on the draft of undertaking.

All students of the placement committee, who are going to be associated in the placement activities, are adviced to attend the meeting.


Hon'ble VC will be addressing the students.

The agenda for the meeting is as,

1. Student data in prescribed format for enabling DCA to prepare dossier for sending it to the industries.
2. Preparing resume in the prescribed format to be uploaded on the placement portal.
3. Profiling of each student for employability assessment.
4. Undertaking format.
5. List of student coordinators from each department.
6. Promotional activities by students and DCA.
7. Probable list of companies likely to visit campus.
8. Commencement of placement drives.
